Timezone is set during account creation however in the event of an error, change of location or for convenience it can be updated or temporarily changed.
Configuring the correct timezone ensures that all notifications, and times listed on the platform match your expectations. If an appointment was booked for a client in the America/Toronto timezone, and you are located in America/Vancouver you expect to see the time listed in your local time, not the client's different time.
Changing your Calendar Timezone
You can change your viewing timezone which will convert any date/times from their original timezone to the one selected which will affect the following:
- Time listed on the Calendar page
- Time listed on the Appointment Details page
- Time of any appointments created/edited
For example, if your time-zone is set to America/Vancouver an appointment created for 12:00 PM in the America/Toronto time-zone would appear as 9:00 AM on your Calendar or when viewed in the 'Appointment Details' page.
To change your viewing time-zone, take these steps:
- Locate the Timezone dropdown in the upper right of the screen (to the left of your name)
- Click on it to open the dropdown
- Search for the correct timezone by typing in the name or scrolling until you find it
- Click on the new timezone for your view to be updated
The timezone will default to the timezone found in your settings
Updating Your Default Timezone
- Click on your name in the upper right of the screen
- From the drop down select Settings
- Within Settings find the Timezone dropdown and select the correct timezone from the list
- Click Update Profile to save the change
Now your default viewing time zone will be updated next time you login, and all system notifications received will be in your new time zone. In situations when your time-zone is different then the time-zone an appointment was booked with, your notifications and calendar will show the time in your time-zone.
Updating a Clients Timezone
There are two ways to update a client's timezone, from either the clients account or from their Cumulative Patient Profile (CPP)
From Client Account
- Locate the client on your My Client or All Clients list
- Click on View Client Account
- Under Profile click Edit
- From the Timezone dropdown select the updated timezone
- Once updated click Save to save your updates, or Cancel to remove it.
From Cumulative Patient Profile (CPP)
- Locate the client on your My Client or All Clients list
- Click on the clients name to open up their profile
- Click on Edit Client Details
- From the Timezone dropdown select the updated timezone
- When done click Save to save your changes or Close to close without saving
