By default, the How did you hear about us? field on your Online Booking page will be a free text box where the client can enter anything.
If you would like to change this to a dropdown with specific options this can be done by
The referral source value can be viewed both in the Patient report and under their profile by:
- Clicking on Edit Client Details
- Expanding the Client Details section
- In the Referral Source field
How to Enable/Disable the Referral Source Dropdown
The referral source dropdown is controlled by the Enable Referral Sources toggle found within Organization Settings -> Online Booking
Toggling Enable Referral Sources on will make it so clients can select one of the pre-set options, or enter their own. When it is toggled off, clients will be able to enter any value into the field.
Updating Referral Sources
You can view all referral sources you have added by navigating to Organization Settings -> Online Booking and viewing the table below the Enable Referral Sources toggle.
Adding a Referral Source
To add a new referral source:
- Navigate to Organization Settings -> Online Booking
- Ensure that the Enable Referral Sources is checked
- Click the Add button
- Add the source name in the window that opens
- Click Save
Removing a Referral Source
To remove a referral source:
- Navigate to Organization Settings -> Online Booking
- Ensure that the Enable Referral Sources is checked
- Click the red trash can in the actions column
- Click Confirm in the window that opens
Marking it as Mandatory
The referral source can be made mandatory by toggling the Mandatory Field toggle on/off.
When checked, clients must include a referral source
When unchecked, clients can book an appointment without including a referral source.
