When creating or editing notification templates, you can choose one or more locations where the template will apply. This allows you to customize when specific templates are used, for example a specific set for in person locations and another for virtual.
Note: By default, all locations are added to each new notification template.
There are two ways to configure for what locations a notification should be sent.
- Directly from the notification template on Settings -> Notification Templates
- Directly from the location
We recommend adding the location name to the notification name to make it clearer which notifications are for which location (or group of locations). For example, if creating a subset of notifications for physical locations you can append '-In Person' or for virtual locations add '-Virtual'.
- Add the name of the location to the notification name
For example, for in person notifications add 'In Person' to the notification title (ex. Confirmation - Provider - In Person)
Setting Locations from the Notification Template
To update a notification's location linking from the notification, take these steps:
- Navigate to Settings -> Notification Templates
- Locate the notification in the list
- Click on the notification name to edit it
- Toggle the locations from the Locations dropdown
- Click Update Notification Template
Setting Notifications by Location
To update what notifications are linked to a location, take these steps:
- Navigate to Settings -> Locations
- Find the location in the list by searching
- Click on the location name to open its settings
- Click Edit in the Details setting
- Toggle notifications through the Notification Templates dropdown
- Click Save
